    Tips for accurate lookup

    • 15-digit ISO chips start with 985, 0, or manufacturer code — most common in US today.
    • 9 or 10-digit chips are older AVID/HomeAgain formats — still searchable.
    • Have the chip re-scanned if the number fails — scanners can misread by one digit.
    • Ask the implanting vet which registry they used — register directly there if needed.
