      Start with filters

      In the directory, toggle Low-Cost, Sliding Scale, Nonprofit, Mobile Vet. Combine with Emergency if you need after-hours.

      Check specialties and species

      Use the specialty dropdown — exotics, behavioral, dental, surgery — and look for species badges (dogs, cats, birds, horses).

    3. 03

      Read pricing notes and hours

      Clinics that share exam fees, sliding eligibility, and grant info show it on the card. Hours are free-text so you can call ahead.

    4. 04

      Call direct and ask

      Ask about current pricing, payment plans, required documents for sliding scale, and whether they accept your situation.
