The NAWN Certification Catalog is live with 12 welfare-first programs across three tiers. Basic tier is free and junior-friendly. Intermediate and advanced programs build real shelter, foster, transport, and emergency skills with 3–4 curriculum modules each, assessments, badges, and renewal rules. Every certificate displays holder name, certification name, completion date, NAWN branding, and unique ID — no system labels.
Free basics stay free. Paid tiers are one-time fees. Junior NAWN members can earn Tier 1 now and unlock Tier 2/3 at 18. All certificates issued by NAWN Certification Authority with verification URL and renewal path.

ADA Compliance — what NAWN registry is and is not
Under the ADA, service animals are defined as dogs individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. The Department of Justice does not require any federal certification, ID card, or registration. NAWN's service animal registry is a voluntary private record for caretakers who want a durable, organized place to document tasks, training, equipment, and emergency contacts.
A NAWN verified badge means NAWN Certification Authority examined uploaded letters or training documentation. It does not constitute a legal determination of disability or ADA compliance, and it does not replace the two permissible questions a business may ask: (1) is this animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has it been trained to perform.
Important disclaimers
- NAWN does not evaluate disability status. Verification checks documentation completeness, not medical eligibility.
- State and local laws may have additional definitions for housing or employment — see FHAA and HUD guidance.
- Fraudulent representation of a service animal may violate state law. Always check your state.
- Emotional support animals are not service animals under ADA public access titles, but may have housing protections.
- Certification packages are voluntary templates; official certificate advises it does not create public access rights by itself.
